Customer Service Representative

We are looking to fill the Customer Service Representative position to work Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm and on Friday from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm. Come and join us at Viking Label & Packaging as one of our valued Customer Service Representatives!

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) provides customers with exceptional service in response to orders, questions, and concerns while managing multiple projects at the same time. They will work together with the management and sales team to serve our customers by understanding their expectations and then communicating and coordinating our resources to achieve the desired outcome.

Responsibilities:

  • The CSRs will primarily be responsible for achieving customer satisfaction by efficiently managing requests for pricing, job entry, implementing change orders, recording alterations, monitoring production and due dates, communicating with mid-management and preparing jobs for billing.

  • CSRs will be the primary point of contact for the work they manage. Identifies, recommends, and implements changes to improve productivity and reduce costs. Major efforts would include streamlining order entry and shortening time it takes to enter and track orders. Helps develop tools to provide a better overall picture of where current jobs are in the process.

  • The CSR will act as a liaison between customers and Viking’s Sales and Production departments to determine customer expectations and to ensure those expectations are met by working with the production team.

  • Accurately creates and updates estimates as assigned from existing customer and/or potentially new customers via the Sales department in a cost-effective manner and with a quick turnaround time

  • Collects all pertinent information from customers needed for work orders and provides it to the correct production departments. This includes, but is not limited to, artwork, approval signatures on proofs, approved purchase orders, billing, and shipping information

  • Accurately tracks all projects and enters notes into customer accounts so that orders can be reproduced consistently and cost effectively

  • Communicates with and supports the Sales department on any quotes, prototypes, or projects in which they are involved

  • Provide high quality and efficient customer service while ensuring internal and external customers and company needs are met regarding pricing margins and products

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Press Assistant

We are looking to fill the Press Assistant position to work on either our Day or Night shift. The Day shift schedule is Monday through Thursday from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm and on Friday from 5:30 am to 2:00 pm. The Night shift schedule is Monday through Thursday from 3:00 pm to 1:30 am. Job Description:

The Press Assistant works closely with Press Operators and scheduling personnel to keep presses running smoothly, efficiently, and ultimately minimize downtime. Responsibilities support the setting up and preparing of each job run on the printing presses, to include mixing ink, pulling correct tooling, ensuring proper cylinders are used based on job specifications, and cleaning up after the job has been completed.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Follows Viking’s press schedule and pulls all orders ahead of production schedule

  • Sets up for job run (including mixing ink) and cleans machine components of press (such as cylinders used)

  • Pulls correct tooling as documented per job specifications

  • Examines cylinders prior to mounting to ensure they are defect-free and have operational gears and bearings

  • Ensures the proper cylinder is used (hard case, A-B-C) and cylinders are of the correct tooth and undercut prior to use

  • Checks plates for defects prior to mounting and works together with either the Production Supervisor and/or Pre-Press department if a defect is identified to troubleshoot the problem

  • Mounts correct quantity and number of plates based on all guidelines and specified colors for production

  • Follows all operational procedures, guidelines, and plant safety rules, reporting any concerns or issues to their immediate supervisor

  • Responsible for working overtime when needed and as assigned

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Press Operator

We are looking to fill the Press Operator position to work on either our Day or Night shift. Job Description:

The Press Operator at Viking Label works to ensure the safe, accurate, and efficient manufacturing of printed labels on a flexographic printing press, to include performing production runs, daily press start-up, and shutdown. Primary responsibilities include monitoring label quality and press conditions and meeting safety, housekeeping, quality, scrap, and productivity quality standards.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Review job ticket and work with Press Assistants to ensure job is set up properly on the press per required specifications and job notes (ink, dies, stock, plates).

  • Assist in setting up job and changing over to next copy or job.

  • Run the job ticket per job specification and log data in the Label Traxx system.

  • While running the press, review printed rolls for quality and consistency related to all aspects of the labels including color registration and die cut.

  • Communicate with Shift Supervisor and/or Production Manager regarding any issues with the labels and dies.

  • Ensure proper data collection for each job, including job notes on material and time variance.

  • Perform basic troubleshooting of the press along with the Press Assistant and Supervisor.

  • Maintain the work area and machines in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed company policies and safety regulations.

  • Actively participate in continuous improvement activities and participate in training when offered or needed.

  • Follows all plant and corporate safety rules, procedures, and guidelines. Reports all safety concerns or issues to their immediate supervisor.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
